I wrote this "BWP" playback software for use as a live assist cart player, free for anyone to use. It is not automation, but intended for live assist or newsroom use. To date, the most common use by broadcast stations (judging from the email received) seems to be in newsrooms where pre-recorded newscasts are produced using the live-on-tape method - recording to the standard editing application while playing sound bites with BWP. It emulates a traditional "cart" tape machine with some improvements including a "cue" player which quickly plays outcues, also allowing play from a "cued" point, similar to reel-to-reel functionality. A countdown timer is also displayed. Please note that upon installation you must manually create a c:\wav folder and place your audio files there, or else edit the BWP.INI setup file to reflect the full path of the audio files' location. This INI file is located in the same folder that BWP.EXE is installed, and you can use notepad to make the required changes.
