Broadcast Audio Software

The software is free, entirely unwarranted. You accept sole responsibility for all liability, finess for purpose, etc. By downloading, you agree to these terms. This software was developed for educational purposes, but also with broader applicability in mind. Developed in VB6, to date, both applications have been tested on recent 32 bit Windows operating systems, with several different sound cards. Both are continously in use at broadcast stations, running under 98 and 2000. Your results could be different. I welcome bug reports via the email clicks on each page, but understand that any free support must be on an a time allows basis.

Broadcast Wav Player

This "Cart Machine" playback software emulates a traditional "cart" tape machine with some improvements including a "cue" player which quickly plays outcues, also allowing play from a "cued" point, similar to reel-to-reel functionality. A countdown timer is also displayed. It is not automation, but intended for live assist or newsroom use.

Auto Recorder

Is a time based automatic recorder / player for radio broadcast. Auto Recorder will record or play wav audio files, and execute batch or other executable application programs at scheduled times. It operates sequentially, processing jobs in strict chronological order, accurate within one-tenth of a second for audio operations, and one second for .exe and .bat file execution operations. The primary use for Auto Recorder is automatic, unattended recording and playback of network or other satellite-delivered radio station program material, sometimes termed time shifting; airing a program at a time other than when the syndicator feeds it. The .exe or .bat execution feature allows renaming, copying, or other file handling operations, providing greater flexibility in practical radio station applications.
